“Under the Dogwood Tree” by Josephine Kelly is a heartwarming play that follows the journey of three women who, by fate of circumstance, meet under the Dogwood Tree. The play explores their shared experiences, adventures, and search for answers to explain our existence. As they spend more time together, they form a deep bond of friendship that will change their hearts forever. The Dogwood Tree serves as a symbol of hope, strength, and resilience, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, there is always a light in our connections of friendship.
Jeannie Larsen as May
Jeannie holds a theatre degree from UNC in Greely. She is recently retired from a career in Human Resources, but in that retired life she has founded her own Human Resources Consulting LLC called HRescue. She and her husband have recently moved to Loveland having been native to La Junta and the Arkansas Valley. Audiences will know Jeannie from her many Picketwire Plays which have included South Pacific, Mary Poppins, Bye Bye Birdie and Fiddle of the Roof to name a few. Her talent shines on stage and off as she has served as choreographer and director. She enjoys sign language and loves to travel. Her most recent trips have included Australia and the Greek Isles. Don’t look for Jeannie in the spring because she will be on her next adventure!
Lynne Tabb as Bea

Meet Lynne - a Provisional Elder in the United Methodist Church. After feeling a quiet tug towards ministry for decades, she finally answered her call in 2016. She completed her Masters of Divinity degree in June 2020 through Iliff Theological Seminary's online program while continuing to live and work in Westcliffe. Lynne's first appointment is at La Junta United Methodist Church. Lynne loves live theater, having been a part of Shakespeare in the Sangres and the Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts for several years. Audiences will remember Lynne when she played Pat Nixon in A Tea For Three at the Fairway Dinner Theatre. Through her various roles, from Olive in Odd Couple the Female Version to Goneril in King Lear, Lynne has learned a lot about life, people, and relationships. She also enjoys singing, playing the flute, and is an avid reader.
Hannah J Smith as Kelli
Hannah Josephine Smith plans on seeking a professional life in the Performing Arts. She has attended drama camps at UCLA, The Broadway Collective and the Bright Spark Broadway Experience in NYC. She worked as an intern for the Children's Theatre of La Junta and with the local radio station KBLJ and served as the Friday Noon News presenter. She has worked at The CMU Moss Performing Arts Center Box Office while attending the university. Through her performance work, Hannah hopes to leave a powerful impression through numerous solo and collaborative projects, Hannah is looking forward to playing Josephine Strong in the CMU spring production of Urinetown.
